Two bright yellow tulips Rising above the weeds Leaning toward each other As we too lean: two loners Among the throng. -MW Once when young, I sought a home, Searching here, there, everywhere, Hoping, longing, in despair. Studied long and hard alone, Wrote my solitary poems, Travelled far and wide, unknown. Then one day,I chanced to meet Fellow traveller on the street, And life soon became more sweet. Little dog appeared one day, Came into our home to stay, Barks, begs, wags, she wants to play. Sits beside us on the couch Brings us comfort, makes us smile, As we sit and talk awhile. It is thus we came to be A little loving family. -MW | The One and the Other My anxious little woman, Flint and powder, A challenge! My tender caring woman, Joy and comfort, My love! -JM My Midi Let me look at you From nearby and from afar Let my fingers touch you, Gently stroke your face. Let me think and dream What but for caution and fear MIght years ago have been. Marriage, a common future, Children, a common home. But all was never lost. You became my companion dear, The little woman I love, My confidante and friend. Life would be bleak without you. And for all I'm thankful! -JM |
An Epigram a Day:
Love makes whole. Words dismember.
A love that begs is a love that has lost.
Love pales when dream fails.
To love blindly is to court disenchantment.
Sex is appetite not love.
Love, laughter, life
So much better than strife.
Love is fantasy,
Marriage is reality.
