Spring of Goodwill Plant a seed That sends up a shoot Makes green leaves that use Sun, water and air To create energy. Be the stem That supports the plant The roots that keep it Upright and anchored. Be the flower That puts on a display Colorful petals Attracting the bees. And the flower Will make its own seeds That feed the squirrels Or falling, sprout anew. Be the plant That grows and nurtures Other plants to grow In a non-ending Cycle of life and hope. Goodwill Seeds Did you plant a seed today? A smile, an encouraging word, A grain of goodwill? The seed will grow, Sending up sprouts , That flower with hope and happiness, And sow their own seeds Of goodwill. -MW | Few Choose to Heed Where there's soil and seed, Where sun and rain, There is hope and promise. Where there's brotherhood, Where love, goodwill, There is hope and promise. Where there's fear and hate, Where violence, There's no hope or promise. Few choose to comprehend, To see, to heed. Most go their hopeless way! The Choice is Yours Don't rant and rave, Don't whine and grumble, Don't weep and wail. Don't leer and sneer, Don't tease and taunt, Don't lie and cheat, Don't denigrate and humiliate. Don't sit and stare, Don't rush and tumble, Don't wait and wonder. Life's not as bad as you may think, Humans are your kindred beings, And mindful action is yours to take, It's up to you and up to me! -JM |
